Full Circle Architects Wins Two Gold Awards from The Home Builders Association Of Greater Chicago
DECEMBER 03, 2010, Northbrook, Ill.—Full Circle Architects, specializing in residential and commercial architectural and interior design, recently received two Gold Key Awards from The Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago. The firm took top honors for “Outstanding Architectural Design” and “Outstanding Design in New Construction”—both in the “Homes over 6,500 Square Feet” category. The award-winning home is located in Bannockburn, Ill.
“Key Awards recognize excellence in housing design, architecture, interior merchandising, remodeling and landscaping,” said Rita Unzner, Director for The Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago. “Created in 1972, the Key Awards have evolved into one of the premier housing programs in the country.
“The judges agreed that Full Circle Architects deserved to be recognized for a number of reasons. These included creating a house that could accommodate the social lifestyles of its family of five while keeping graceful proportions, to designing custom kitchen furniture that used trees cleared from the lot on which the house stands,” Unzner added.
Award-winning Philosophy Applies to All Sizes of Residential Projects
The awards were accepted by Full Circle Architects Principal Lenore Baigelman. “We were particularly thrilled to receive this honor because it comes from the professionals who work side-by-side with us to realize the designs we create. They helped us construct a number of unique features in this home, such as built-in window seats with storage to provide ‘perching points’ for the family to enjoy the view inside and outside their home.
“But the same design philosophy and process we use on a large new construction project is suitable for a smaller remodeling or home addition,” Baigelman explained. “This begins by learning about our clients’ lifestyles, so we can tailor their living spaces to their wants and needs. Then we integrate special details to truly reflect their personalities. And finally, we look for green and sustainable solutions to increase comfort, reduce energy costs, create healthier environments, and bring greater returns on construction investments.”
Since 1989, Full Circle Architects has developed one-of-a-kind architectural solutions that apply good design sense to the demands of structure, function and aesthetics. The firm creates custom spaces for homeowners, condominium associations, and private businesses. It also serves as a technical consultant on commercial projects, including capital improvements, high-rise exterior façade examinations, engineering and transition reports, reserve studies, construction rules and unit reviews, green services (with LEED-accredited professionals), and life-safety improvements.
